METHOD OF SELECTION:-


Selection will be through written test and interview of shortlisted candidates based on performance in the written test.

Candidates who meet the qualifying criteria and whose online application is accepted are required to log on to the website and enter their application no. to access and download their written test call letter. Candidates are required to print the call letter and comply with the instructions indicated therein. Please note that call letters will not be sent through e-mail or through conventional mail.

Candidates, whose applications are accepted through the process of submission of online applications, are eligible to attend the written test at the respective centre. The call letters will be uploaded on the website on 10.06.2011

THE WRITTEN TEST WILL BE HELD ON 26.06.2011

The written test will be held at Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Guwahati centres. Candidates should choose the test centre nearest to their place of correspondence. SC/ST/PWD candidates will be reimbursed II Class to and fro train fare by the shortest route (from their correspondence address to the written test exam centre) for attending the written test on production of Railway Ticket Receipts and copy of the relevant caste / disability certificate, without which no reimbursement will be made. SC/ST/PWD are required to download and print the Traveling Allowance Format which is available in the advertisement. The Traveling Allowance Claim Form will be handed over to the Invigilator at the time of the written test. Please note that the candidates who have not downloaded, printed and filled the Traveling Allowance Claim form and with the required enclosures will not be paid TA. Request for change in the written test centres will not be entertained at any point of time.

The written test will consist of Objective type questions from basic Engineering subjects in the respective disciplines / specialisations and General Aptitude. The list of candidates short-listed in the written test for interview, will be placed on the BEL website on the 1st / 2nd week of August 2011 (tentatively).  They will be required to appear for an interview for final selection. The results of selection will be available on the BEL website through query mode.
 
AGE LIMIT: As on 01.04.2011:-

The maximum age limit for General candidates as on 01.04.2011 will be 25 years. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates. In respect of PWD candidates upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years.

In respect of PWD candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC category, the age relaxation admissible will be over and above the relaxation admissible for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC.

For candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the state of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989, the upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for General candidates, 8 years for OBC candidates and 10 years for SC/ST candidates.

Relaxation will be extended as per Govt. guidelines in respect of Ex-Serviceman.

SCALE OF PAY:-
Candidates selected against the above position, will be placed in E-II grade, at the minimum of the pay scale of Rs.16400-3%-40500/- . In addition, they will be entitled to DA, HRA, Conveyance Allowance, Performance Related Pay, Medical Reimbursement and other perquisites as admissible.

Requirements:

Qualification: First class in BE/ B.Tech (Electronics / Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Telecommunication.) from a recognized University/ institution.

Nationality / Citizenship :  A candidate must be either (i) a citizen of India, OR (ii) a subject of Nepal, OR (iii) subject of Bhutan, OR (iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, OR (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv).& (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination/ interview conducted by the Bank but on final selection the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him/her by the Government of India.

OBC and Non-Creamy Layer candidates availing reservation will have to produce OBC and Non-Creamy Layer certificate issued between 01.04.2011 and 12.08.2011 at the time of interview failing which his/her candidature will be cancelled and he/she will not be admitted to Interview.

11. Candidates will have to appear for the Group Discussion/Interview at their own expenses and risks and the Bank will not be responsible for any injury/ losses etc. of any nature. However, SC/ST un-employed candidates attending the interview will be reimbursed 2nd class to & fro rail/ bus fare by the shortest route on production of evidence of travel as per Govt. guidelines.

12. Any request for change of address / email ID will not be entertained.

13. In case any dispute arises on account of interpretation in version other than English, English version will prevail.

14. Appointment of selected candidates is subject to his/ her being found eligible, medically fit, satisfactory character & antecedents reports alongwith police and caste certificate verification as per the requirement of the Bank. 16. Candidates should ensure that the signatures appended by them in all the places viz. in their call letter, attendance sheet etc. and in all correspondences with the Bank in future are identical and there should be no variation of any kind.

17. The candidates must affix their recent coloured passport size photograph from the same negative at the places indicated in the call letter and must sign across the photograph after it is affixed so that a part of the signature spreads over the call letter beyond the photograph. They should also keep some copies of the same photograph for future, if required. Please note that Black & White photograph will not be accepted.

18. Competent Authority for Issue of Certificate to SC/ST/OBC/PC is as under:

(b)For Physically Challenged (PC)– the Competent Authority to issue Disability Certificate shall be a Medical Board duly constituted by the Central or State Govt. The Central/ State Govt. may constitute Medical Boards consisting of at least 3 members out of which one shall be a specialist in the particular field for assessing locomotor/ cerebral/ visual/ hearing disability as the case may be.

19. Action Against Candidates Found Guilty of Misconduct:

Candidates are advised in their own interest that they should not furnish any particulars that are false, tampered, fabricated and should not surpress any material information while filling up the application form. At the time of  interview/Group Discussion, if a candidate is (or has been ) found guilty of – (i)Misbehaving in the Interview/Group Discussion venue or (ii) resorting to any irregular or improper means in connection with his/ her candidature for selection or (iii) obtaining support for his/ her candidature by unfair means, or at the time of interview, joining any time in future, furnishing false information/declaration regarding previous employment, such a candidate may, in addition to rendering himself/ herself liable to criminal prosecution, be liable :

(a)To be disqualified from the Interview/Group Discussion for which he/ she is a candidate.
(b)To be debarred either permanently or for a specified period from any examination or recruitment conducted by Allahabad Bank.

Out of the above vacancies, 55 vacancies (30 current and 25 backlog) are reserved for Physically Challenged (Ph.Ch.) candidates having either Locomotor Disability or Hearing Impairment. The above no. of reserved vacancies may vary :

2. Vacancies reserved for OBC category are meant only for OBC candidates coming under 'Non-Creamy Layer' (NCL).
     
'Non-Creamy Layer' under OBC means 'The gross annual income of parents of the candidate should not be more than Rs.4.5 lakhs in last three consecutive years in line with DOPT OM No. 36033/3/2004-Estt.(Res) dated 14th Oct,2008.'

As per clarification by DOP&T vide their O.M dated 14.10.2004, following candidates will fall in OBC creamy layer:
              
1. Wards of parents, either one or both of whom are directly recruited in Class I/Group A posts in Govt. Services or PSUs.
2. Wards of parents, both whom are directly recruited in Class II/Group B posts.
3. Wards of parents, of whom only the husband is directly recruited in Class II/Group B post and he gets into Class I/Group A post at the age of 40 years or earlier

Relaxation:-

   1. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (NCL) candidates and for Ph.Ch. – 10 years for General, 13 years for OBC and 15 years for SC/ST category.
   2. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 Years for Exservicemen.
   3. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for the candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the state of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 1/1/1980 to 31/12/1989.
   4. SC/ST/ Ph.Ch. candidates are exempted from payment of processing/examination fee.

BHEL Recruitment 2012 for Engineer Trainees Selection Process:-
   
Selection process will consist of Written Test and Personal Interview.

All eligible candidates will be invited for written test at their own expense. The Written Test papers will be objective type in nature and will be bilingual i.e. in Hindi & English. Candidates performance in the Written Test will be assigned a weightage of 70% for the techncal part and 30% for the aptitude part and a Merit List will be made. Thereafter, the candidates will be called for personal interview in the ratio of 1:3 to the no. of vacancies in order of merit of Written Test Marks. Further after Interviews, final selectionn panels shall be prepared by assigning a weightage of 75% for Written Test Marks and 25% for Interview Marks.

For applying the above ratio, initially, all UR candidates of each discipline of Engineering, alongwith such reserved category candidates of that discipline, who do not avail any relaxation, are to be grouped together and then arranged in descending order of written test marks and candidates shall be called for interview in the ratio of 1: 3 in UR category.

After this, candidates belonging to OBC/SC/ST categories, who are not shortlisted for interview as UR, shall be regrouped with their respective categories for further consideration and candidates will be called for interview in the prescribed ratio.

Later on, at the time of final selection, the same exercise is to be carried out for all those reserved category candidates considered so far under UR category.

NOTE: Candidate finally selected are required to work at the initial place of posting for a period of four years after training/regularization, unless transferred by the Company in Organizational interest. No request for change in place of posting/transfer will be considered during this period. In case any outside influence is brought upon any superior authority in this matter, it will be construed as a misconduct as per Rule 17 of the BHEL Conduct, Discipline and Appeal Rules.

Tentative date of Written Test: 18th September-2011 .

Following is the list of Written Test centres. However, BHEL reserves the right to add, change or delete any of the below mentioned Test Centres, at its discretion:

Educational  Qualifications:- Full time regular Diploma in Engineering from a recognized Indian University/ Institute in the disciplines of MECHANICAL/ ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONICS/ CIVIL

Percentage/  equivalent CGPA:- Minimum 65 % or Equivalent CGPA in aggregate of all years/semesters (relaxable to 60% for SC/ST candidates)

Upper Age Limit (years) as on 1st August, 2011:- 27 Years (Candidates born before  01/08/1984 are not eligible to apply)

Supervisor Trainee (Finance):-

Educational  Qualifications:- Full time regular Bachelor's Degree in Commerce from a recognized Indian University/ Institute.

Percentage/  equivalent CGPA:- Minimum 70 % or Equivalent CGPA in aggregate of all years/semesters (relaxable to 60% for SC/ST candidates)

Upper Age Limit (years) as on 1st August, 2011:- 27 Years (Candidates born before  01/08/1984 are not eligible to apply)

Reservation:-
   1. Since the number of vacancies advertised is tentative in nature and there could be fluctuation in number of vacancies for different Units/ Divisions, Unit/ Division-wise distribution of reserved vacancies will be arrived at after review of number of vacancies. However, Reservation Directives for various categories will be strictly complied with, including applicable State-wise reservation.
